The Best Food

Hello Dear One,

I’d love to shine a spotlight on the topic of NOURISHMENT.

Now we’re not going to be talking about low carb, or high protein, or vitamins or minerals.

There are two types of “FOOD” that provide NOURISHMENT.

We have SECONDARY FOOD that is the micro and macro nutrients we get from our food (and supplements) that enables our bodies to function and provide fuel for energy and activity.

PRIMARY FOOD consists of the things in our world that FEED US.

Feed our heart.  Feed our soul.  Light us up.  Fill us with love.  Make us feel excited.  Full.  Purposeful.  Free.  Connected.  NOURISHED.

 

PRIMARY FOOD is what we’ll be focusing on here and now.

PRIMARY FOOD is made up of:

RELATIONSHIPS (friends/family and intimate) that are present where we feel seen and known.

WORK when it gives us a sense of purpose.

SPIRITUAL connection with something greater than us.

HEALTH and tending to our bodies to keep them fit and strong.

GROWTH mentally and emotionally with gaining new knowledge and personal insights.

FINANCIALLY having a sense of comfort for our needs and desires.

COMMUNITY, feeling a sense of likeness and support.

FUN ACTIVITIES being a part of your world on the regular.

All THESE things provide NOURISHMENT.  True nourishment.

These things can’t be faked – either they’re present or they’re not (which can feel devastating to realize their absence).

But if they’re not, or if they’re present in some stunted fashion – we can always CHANGE them!

We can always cultivate ANY aspect of our life to be more robust, active, more firmly established.

And the largest argument for why we might wish to spend time and energy on lesser developed aspects of one’s self or life, is because if we DON’T…

We remain HUNGRY.

And when this HUNGER is present we will aim to GET FED.

The Win Win reality of CHOOSING to have a life that is FULL of PRIMARY FOOD – is that we’ll never feel like we’re STARVING.

And if we’re never STARVING – we’ll never have to stuff, or drown, ourselves in food or drink (or other non supportive outlets) that aim to fill us up in a way that will NEVER ultimately satisfy.

PRIMARY FOOD = TRUE NOURISHMENT.

We need it.  We know it when we’re getting it and we FEEL it when we’re not.

So which of the items in our not unsubstantial list might you be CLEARLY rocking??

And which could use a good amount of help?

Let’s START there for a happy, healthy, and harmonious life!

But let’s also LOOK there for NOURISHMENT when we are clearly HUNGRY and recognize that food/drink/etc is simply not enough.
