Healthiest Holidays

Hello Dear One!

Health honestly comes in a myriad of forms and in three main camps.

We tend to focus on the PHYSICAL (especially when things are clearly off).

To reverse or prevent what you don’t want to have happen think about (at least):

DIET:
= low glycemic or lower carb (Ahem, Fat Burning)

EXERCISE:
= walking and weights

PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE SUPPLEMENTATION:
= multivitamin

But what about the OTHER aspects of our health???

What about our MENTAL, EMOTIONAL and even SPIRITUAL well being??

These parts of us matter majorly and if they’re neglected we will cry UNCLE typically in some act of rebellion and need for pleasure or relief.

MENTAL – I see this as the part of us that needs STIMULATION, challenge, newness, and growth.

It’s super easy to keep this camp contained so we always know what we’re doing and always feel good about what we know.

If we DON’T keep our health high on the mental side we often feel BORED, BORING, and like we’re living a version of Groundhog Day.

What to do?

Stuff that’s scary.  Stuff that’s new.  Stuff that you’ve ALWAYS wanted to do.

The stuff that will blow our own mind if we do take the plunge and that we’ll regret if we don’t.

EMOTIONAL – we talk about this a lot in our Fat Burning group.

First off our feelings are GUIDANCE, and when we feel INTO them vs trying to get away we attain clarity and forward movement.

Doing that act of bravery helps prevent addictive behavior (eating, drinking, shopping, distracting ourselves with _____) and running in circles wrestling with regret and staying in the same spot.

Additionally WE HAVE NEEDS!

And truth be told having CONTACT with other humans is an essential one.

We need to get stuff off our chest.  We need other people to listen to us.  To LOOK AT US (no joke).  To TOUCH us.

As humans (my therapist told me this) we both self regulate and co regulate. In truth we actually need other people around us to feel balanced.

I told a client that I was working with in person that JUST BY BEING NEAR HER I FELT A SURGE OF HAPPINESS.

Cray-ZEE.

People are like batteries and we get ENERGY by being around each other.

What to do?

See your circle as you see fit.  Call people.  Facetime with others.  Go to the market!  Make eye contact.  Say hello.  Let someone go first.  Say thank you.

You’re not going to get a virus by being friendly, and it may improve your overall health if you are.

Lastly SPIRITUAL health.

If you have felt ROCKY, freaked out, ALONE, overwhelmed, uncertain, or lost – turning to something higher is SMART.

Whatever your definition of a higher power is, when you are IN NEED, TURN TO IT.

This is a no joke kind of thing.

Whether you feel like you have too many tasks for you to handle in the 24 hours of this day, or you are feeling helpless and hopeless about how to figure out what to do NOW or NEXT…

TURN TO SOMETHING HIGHER.

I don’t always use the term, “Let go and let God.”, but I have been using it lately when I’ve felt frightened, in doubt of myself or the universe’s plan for me, and panicked about what might come next.

I also use the mantra, “Show me what to do. Show me what to do. Show me what to do.”, because I know if I ask for long enough – I’ll be shown the way.

Harmony = Health in my book.

Health is not just a number on a test or the scale, and truthfully the better you feel INSIDE the better all will look, function and feel on the outside.
